Profile - Liz Groucott

Age:
29
Time in sport: 11 years
Number of jumps: 1,650
Number of jumps in past year: 450
Slot on VMax: Outside centre

Favourite DZ and why:
Weston – it's friendly, I like the people and it's got cool planes. Skydive DeLand for training camps

Most memorable jump and why:
Every jump of the World Meet this year because it was just so amazing to be there. Also, I can't forget my first jump where I kicked all the way

What are the strengths you bring to the team?
I’m enthusiastic, organised (apparently!) and always pushing to train more

And your weaknesses?
I faff a lot and I don't know how to travel light. And I’m always pushing to train more

What do you like about being in an all-female team?
It's not, we've got Brian although he is an honorary chick.  Good things are no leader and fewer bad aircraft smells

Skydiving tip:
Get some tunnel time, it rocks

Beauty tip:
Haven't a clue. Use lots of hair conditioner

Favourite position:
Hot sunny DZ somewhere in Florida

Favourite underwear:
Don't have any (favourites)

Do you watch your weight?
Yes

To what do you find it hardest to say no?
Things that sound like fun and chocolate and icecream and especially chocolate icecream

Do you wear the trousers in a relationship?
Don't think so but I faff slightly less than he does.

Favourite film and why:
I can't sit still long enough to watch films

What job do you do?
Tax consultant

Ideal way to relax:
From training? Trying to freefly

What are your other interests?
Horseriding, skiing, travelling

What winds you up?
People who tell me big fibs. People who stop and stand still when they get off an escalator

Do you have a philosophy?
It's a short life so do lots with it

Describe yourself in three words:
Happy, determined, alien feet

Anything to add:
After the Nationals, when Kate said she was leaving, we were gutted. But we’re really pleased Sarah has rejoined the team and it’s great to have a plan again, working towards the next World Meet. Wahay!
