Profile - Claire Scott

Age:
28
Time in sport: 8 years
Number of jumps: 1,600
Number of jumps in past year: 350
Slot on VMax: Point

Favourite DZ:
DeLand / Weston – both are friendly, welcoming and full of happy memories. DeLand feels like a second home.

Most memorable jump:
Balloon jump – Weston, brilliant experience, great views and vibe. On landing I went into power lines, set fire to the field, (the power cable broke) and finished the jump in tears, with a completely shredded canopy! (hence my nickname Sparky!)

What strengths do you bring to the team?
I always see positives. ("in SparkyWorld the sun always shines and we do 12 jumps a day!")

And your weaknesses?
I can easily get frustrated when I can’t get a block or an exit right despite drilling it loads of times.

What do you like about being in an all-female team?
No big egos, everyone is working together to produce a team result. Although I would hope you get that on male and mixed teams.

Favourite underwear:
Calvin Klein

Do you watch your weight?
All the time!

To what do you find it hardest to say no?
Another glass of wine!

Do you ‘wear the trousers’ in a relationship?
I would like to think so, although Andy does get his say! (Andy’s nickname is Mr J after Claire’s maiden name, Jenkinson, so that answers that one! –Ed)

Favourite film and why:
ET. It’s sad I know, but I cry every time. He’s cute!

Ideal way to relax:
Going for a run or to the gym

What’s your perfect meal?
Italian

What job do you do and why?
Area sales manager for Friskies Petcare – I meet loads of people, it’s fun, challenging and flexible for time off

What are your other interests?
Gym, circuits, horse-riding and gardening – not something I normally admit to!

What winds you up?
Slow manifesting, broken planes and shoddy weather!

Describe yourself in three words:
Competitive, enthusiastic, sometimes gullible

Anything to add?
I can be a bit dizzy sometimes!
